Gozo Bonkers recently created a crowd funding campaign through givealittle.co.nz in the hopes that we might be able to fundraise enough to hire a contractor to create our very own inspirational App.
Spoiler Alert - we raised enough!
This App will feature cartoon saint cards and prayers. It will also have a section called 'Legends' and will feature 21 inspirational characters featuring quotes on the reverse of the cards.
The App will feature a Quiz: Children and adults alike can answer the questions about inspirational people and saints, they can learn that they too can change the world with their small actions. With so much negativity in the world, we would love to create a positive message and offer this App for free for all to download and enjoy!
Just think about how a teenager could have the iPhone in his/her pocket and instead of learning something negative he/she could pull up the Legends gallery and see the quotes from Malala Yousafzai or Nelson Mandela.
To view more images of how the App will look please visit the GALLERY and view more here: http://www.gozobonkers.com/app.html
I feels like a dream of mine is coming true. I’m completely humbled by the support from the community. The funds raised are now being used to pay for the App programmer (through upwork.com) to create the code for the App. This code makes the app function on all Mac and Android devices.
I have done all the graphic design work for free and am working with the programmer to make the App function. Once complete I will upload the app to the iTunes store + Google Play store for free.
We are hoping to have the App finished in about a 6 weeks. Please stay tuned through our Facebook page for updates.

“Alone we run fast, together we run far” ~ African Proverb
In 1868 Mary MacKillop let these words burst forth into the world: “Believe in the whisperings of God to your own heart.” In early March of this year I found myself looking online for eBooks about saints. To my surprise there was very little, and there was absolutely nothing for Mary MacKillop.
How could this be?
While discovering this I felt my own whisper, I felt an energy start to form within me, a light bulb moment burst forth as I thought, “well, I could create one!”...
Going in completely blind (and fairly naive) I rolled my sleeves up, got out my pencils and started sketching. I researched cartoon styles via aunty Google and also looked back at what people loved so much about my Saint Cards (http://www.gozobonkers.com/saint-cards.html). I kept listening to my spirit through prayer, and felt energized as the process continued. Many late nights and weekends ensued: Once you feel energy that bursts forth from a whispering it’s not something that can be simply turned off, one must continue through open curiosity and trust…
On the feast of the Sacred heart ‘Saint Story’ was released. Hurray.
This day felt more than appropriate, ‘Saint Story’ is a gift from the heart; all my time and energy are donated and I have paid for the contractor from what little I have. All proceeds will be donated back to the works of MMI (www.mmi.org.au) too. This process has been fruitful and is also helping me also to discern possible ministry options as I continue on my Emmaus Journey. I have no idea how the eBook will go and who it will touch; my hope is that it inspires adults and children alike. I also hope to also create further Saint Story eBooks for other saints (God willing).
Mary was real, she walked these streets like you and I, she cried, she laughed and she most certainly love. I hope we all have courage like Mary to listen and go where the wind takes us…

Thank you for your support

Exciting news - Jane has been beavering away on a new eBook. Stay tuned - more info is coming soon...
After almost 2 years of hiatus we are back - Huzzah!
Jane is still on her Emmaus Journey (a.k.a Novitiate), so the operation of Gozo Bonkers is going to work a wee bit differently. Read more of Jane's story here >> Vocation Story + Blog.
Moving forward we are going to be set-up essentially as a wholesaler. We will organise printing for orders of 500 or more cards. This is ideal for schools, parishes, organisations etc. We can easily create custom prayers and adapt artwork to suit your needs. Jane is delighted to be able to still supply artwork and provide joyful prayer cards.
Please note that we do have very limited stock on hand of some existing cards. Feel free to email Jane a request (email@example.com). If we have what you're looking for then we can send cards to you right away. Generally we would expect a donation of 50c - $1.50NZD per card. Please also look after us with a bit of shipping money too ($5 - $10) per order.
- Please check out our FAQ page for pricing and more info.
- View all new and existing cards under the SHOP section.

Want to learn about friendship and loyalty? Say hello to St John the Apostle…
John the Apostle had the distinction of being a beloved friend of Jesus, he was the writer of five books of the New Testament, and a pillar in the early Christian church.
John was especially loyal to Jesus. He was the only one of the 12 apostles present at the cross. After Pentecost , John teamed up with Peter to fearlessly preach the gospel in Jerusalem and suffered beatings and imprisonment for it. Because John experienced the unconditional love of Jesus firsthand, he preached that love in his gospel and letters… Basically as a Christian he believed that as Christ loves us, we are to love others. God is love , and we, as Christians, are to be channels of God's love to our neighbours… Amen yo.
John the Apostle // Evangelist is usually depicted as a young man. Christian art usually represents St. John with an eagle, symbolising the heights to which he rises in the first chapter of his Gospel. The chalice as symbolic of St John, is sometimes interpreted with reference to the Last Supper.
It is also connected to the legend according to which St. John was handed a cup of poisoned wine, from which, at his blessing, the poison rose in the shape of a serpent.
He is credited with writing the Gospel of John; the letters 1 John , 2 John, and 3 John + the book of Revelation. Thanks for teaching us about friendship + LOVE FOR ALL St John.
